The Teakwood Collection designs are inspired by the embroideries and patterns that have historically emerged from the Arabian Gulf region.
In line with Tamashee’s goal of preserving the Arabian Gulf’s identity, Tamashee has built the stool displays using teak wood, a type of wood historically used for a variety of purposes in the Arabian Gulf region. The teak wood is also used for emerging artist activities.
The word Teak originates from the South Indian word Thekku commonly referred to in Arabic as Saaj الساج. Teak wood was traditionally used for boat building in the Arabian Gulf due to its water resistant properties.
